The staff of St. Boniface Hospital, the driving force of Health Equity International in southern Haiti, provide world-class comprehensive care to a population of over 2 million people. In 2019 HEI supported nearly 11,000 emergency room visits and 12,000 home visits and performed over 4,000 surgeries and over 4,000 infant deliveries in 2019 – a patient load nearly four times greater than just a few years earlier. Anseye Pou Ayiti (Teach for Haiti) recruits and equips local teachers in rural primary schools, and engages their parents, to transform classrooms and communities, all the while building a Haitian-led movement of civic leaders to promote educational equity nationwide.
Haitian women of Famn Limye (Women Illumined), a value chain of Haitian artisanry, sew masks for their members’ families and the local market. All are trained and equipped by Prosperity Catalyst.
The Rian Immigrant Center (formerly the Irish International Immigrant Center) based in Boston provides free legal services, English as a Second Language classes, citizenship education and wellness services for immigrant and refugee families from over 125 countries, including Ireland. The Rian Center also advocates for systemic immigration reform and cherishes the rich immigrant heritage of the United States.
Leaders from Haitian community-based organizations meet to learn new skills in strategic planning, financial management, board development and more via trainings offered by the Haiti Development Institute.
The Millennium Campus Network offers the Millennium Fellowship in partnership with UN Academic Impact to 1,000 highly driven social impact leaders pursuing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals on nearly 70 campuses across the globe.
